Manufacturing Engineer Skokie, IL
Kelly Services is currently seeking a Manufacturing l Engineer for one of our top clients in Skokie, IL. Our client is experiencing significant growth and looking to add talented individuals like yourself to their wonderful culture. Incumbent will be responsible to measure, report and recommend performance improvements affecting efficiency with an emphasis on manufacturing and quality. In addition, the Industrial Engineer also records, establishes and analyzes time studies in order to establish production standards.
This position is a Contract without an end date.
Oversees the establishment of routings, time studies, standards, and standard data.
Develops cost analysis for the following: Contract bid, Product revisions and make versus buy decisions and equipment capacity studies.
Active member in determining plant/cell layout, material flow and traffic patterns.
Establishes routings for new products.
Establish routings in the Mapics and corrects and/or changes routings for current products.
Observes, understands and documents component processing procedures for aircraft, sheet metal heat shields.
Documents and details processes in standardized format.
Able to analyze, and learn techniques and approaches for sheet metal stamping, forming, laser welding, assembly and other shop processes.
Supports production for day-to-day problem resolution.
Identifies opportunities to streamline and standardize manufacturing processes.
Analyzes standard time data and evaluates its accuracy or proposes corrections.
Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.
Initiates action to prevent the occurrence of any manufacturing deficiencies relating to the product, production process, employees or other related department processes.
Identifies and communicates through the appropriate channels any problems relating to Manufacturing methods and processes.
Initiates, recommends or provides solutions/improvements through designated channels.
Education and Skills:
Exercises care and diligence in executing prescribed tasks.
Demonstrates initiative to learn new skills or expand job roles.
Communicates effectively to supervisors and support staff on manufacturing and productivity issues that arise.
Demonstrates a courteous and respectful manner to all employees.
Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of all policies and procedures and ability to reference them from appropriate books and materials.
4-year Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering preferred.
3-5 years in manufacturing/industrial engineering preferred. Entry Level (2-3 years’ experience in an Industrial/ Manufacturing setting) may also be acceptable.
